Relocating to Greensboro???

If you have a Section 8 voucher and would like to move to Greensboro, your first step is to find out if your current housing authority will continue to pay your subsidy in Greensboro. Greensboro Housing Authority is NOT absorbing any new clients. This means that although you are moving, your current housing authority will still be responsible for your subsidy payments.

If they are not in agreement with this policy, then you will not be allowed to port to Greensboro.

If they are in agreement, then you will need your current housing authority to mail or fax your portability papers to the attention of:

Ms. Angie Banks
Greensboro Housing Authority
1300 Ogden Street, Suite B
Greensboro NC 27406
(FAX 336 271 5905)

Questions? Contact Angie Banks at 336 303 3059.

Once all portability paperwork has been received, Ms. Banks will contact you and provide you with a date and time on when to come in and meet with her to be issued a voucher in Greensboro. At that time, we will require the following documents for EACH MEMBER OF THE FAMILY at the time of meeting with Ms. Banks:

BIRTH CERTIFICATES

SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS

IDENTIFICATION

AND PROOF OF ALL INCOME FOR THE HOUSEHOLD

Failure to keep this appointment can result in

not receiving another appointment for a month.
