Eligibility Requirements

When GHA selects names from the waiting list and invites the families selected to submit a full application for a housing choice voucher, it will verify all information pertaining the family such as, total family income; the number of persons in the family; preference claimed at time of initial application or from updated information and conduct a criminal background check. A family’s income may not exceed the income limits established by HUD, which is based upon family size. After the verification process is complete, GHA will notify the family whether or not it meets the eligibility guidelines for assistance.
