Maintenance & Inspections
The Greensboro Housing Authority maintenance staff responds to resident requests for repairs between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. If the needed work is due to normal wear and tear, the resident will not be charged. If a resident, a family member, guest or visitor is responsible for the problem or damage, a charge will be assessed to the lease holder’s rental account. Calls for repairs are prioritized and responded to in order of urgency. Residents at all locations should call 336-272-4137 to make a maintenance request.
Emergency calls are answered 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. An answering service forwards all emergency calls to an on-call GHA team member. It is important to provide the answering service with your name, location, nature of the problem and a call back number.
If the emergency is life threatening, immediately call 911.
The purpose of any GHA inspection is to ensure that public housing units are decent, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. All units are inspected at least once a year.
